Please review the links for CESD inclement weather information in the event that we have some extreme weather days where the school is closed or the buses are not running.
Yellow Day - Buses will not run but the school is open - if temperature with wind chill) is at or lower than minus forty (-40) degrees Celsius. Learning will take place at school on yellow days for those who are able to arrive safely.
You will receive communication through the Bus Status App and School messenger to your phone, text and email, if your bus is not running. Please ensure your contact information is up to date at the school so you can receive this information.
Red Day- Buses will not run and the school is closed - if temperature with wind chill, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., to be at or lower than minus forty-five (-45) degrees Celsius. Students will receive learning opportunities through Google Classroom.
You will receive communication from Chinook’s Edge School Division, phone, text and email, if your bus is not running and the school is closed. Please ensure your contact information is up to date at the school so you can receive this information.
Inclement weather information, in the event of yellow and red days, will also be posted on facebook, the CESD website, www.cesd73.ca and the Carstairs Elementary website. www.carstairselementary.ca. It is very important that your children are dressed safely for the weather. Please remember to send warm mittens, toques, snow pants, winter boots and coats with your child to school every day on those cold days. Students will be going outside for recess breaks unless the temperature is below -22C including windchill.
